Covenant Designs is a leader in Video Production in Dallas. We own our own cameras and know our workflow to a "T". Did you know that most video production companies actually rent their video cameras the day of the shoot and use freelancers to run it? Tell me, how can you be an expert on equipment and talent that is not even yours? How can other companies call themselves professional when they don't even have the gear needed to do video production in the first place? With 17 years of Corporate Marketing expertise, 10 years in Digital Photography, and 3 years in High Definition Video production, we are Dallas' leader in high definition video production that produces results. Yes we own the right high definition video equipment and know the technicalities to make great videos, but most importantly operate from a marketing communications perspective. How to Use Video to Improve Google Ranking & Conversions

Good Web Video & Video Content Gives Your Business a Huge Competitive Edge

Online video is spreading across the Internet like wildfire. Text is being read less and less as customers and prospects prefer to learn and engage through video instead. Text is rapidly becoming just something for the search engine spiderbots to pick up on -- not what your viewers actually read. With the demand for video content online rising -- both from consumers, and from businesses looking to communicate, inform and persuade more effectively so they can Keep existing market share and Rise in profitability.

Control Your Image With Web Page Video
It takes lots of text and reading to establish your company's image. But it only takes 30 seconds of video to not just establish your business image, but to also make your brand memorable. In the same way that not all web verbiage is good, not all Internet video is good either. However, a good web video is worth its weight in Diamonds!

Turn Your Viewers On, not Off
Bad design is a turn off. Bad text is a turnoff. The same goes for bad video. Forget the webcam, that screams "amateur" because if you use a webcam you will not be taken seriously in the business world.

You web video is a business tool to sell your products and services -- to cause your prospect to WANT to do business with you. Bad web video does not get to the essence of the value your company offers. Bad video has bad sound, bad lighting and gives the impression that the message is an afterthought.

Flip that around to the positive: your video needs to be professional. That does not mean it has to have a Hollywood movie budget and crew, but it does mean a professional 3CCD camera, studio lighting, professional microphones and proper video editing.

But equipment is only half the story; the message is the other half. You have to communicate value. That means having something worth saying in an engaging way.

Without professional and engaging video, your prospect will feel that he's wasted his time with you. So don't shoot your businesses' image in the foot with poor video -- instead, turn to a professional marketing company such as Promise Productions Marketing Communications. They know how to tell your story in a way through video to get you the results you want.

Good web page videos provide a high user experience that simply can't be achieved in text or even flash animation.

• Visuals -- both still photos, moving video, and illustrations / animations -- communicate efficiently and memorably.

• The voiceover gives the right "tone" and emphasis to the words being said. Additionally, background music can set the best mood.

• Text tells "about" the product or service whereas video can give a direct experience of it. So there's no comparison of the power of video to provide understanding. benefit realization and motivation for action.

• Because a video conveys more in less time, it matches the attention span of your site's visitors. That means your business can distill your message to be fully conveyed instead of a prospect tuning out your text half way through.

Engage Your Prospects
Savvy Internet marketers understand Web Site Stickiness -- that you want your prospect to stick around on your businesses' web page long enough to understand the products and services offered as well as to be engaged with the site's content to take the next step towards a business relationship.

A properly done web site video will engage the viewer and immediately either inform of the value of your service or demonstrate the benefit of your product. Once you have their attention you can boost your brand or direct them towards the specific action you want them to take (fill out a form, buy a product online, call your office phone, etc.).

A marketing-savvy video on your web site gives you an almost unfair advantage over a competitor who lacks video. The boost to your image and the number of responses a video-enabled web site / blog has will easily dominate the web page that is still back in 2008.

The leading Internet search engines, such as Google, consider video to have higher engagement potential than static content. Even when a site's external link popularity may not be great, just putting up new regular videos can make your business show up right away, and at the top, of search results.

Bottom Line
For all these reasons, it is extremely important for businesses to offer video content on their own sites, both for improved visibility in the search engines and to attract their ideal customers.

Video for Corporate Training

In Dallas Video Production, the Corporate Training Video has become one of the most effective and cost saving policies. By switching to training videos, companies can ensure consistency and thoroughness in training, take training online, and provide employees with easy ways to review procedures by literally "showing" them what to do.

For example, an mechanical assembly training video guides you through the process faster and with much higher retention than any other training. You know exactly what to do not because you had to read and remember lots of data, but because you were shown. While the possibilities to use training videos are endless, another example we did is a valet parking training video. Here you can enact scenarios quickly and role play situations in the moment.

Training videos take the training to the employee across remote offices, in a simple and cost-effective manner.

Video's unsurpassed ability to show-and-tell made it the obvious persuasion tool of choice for marketing and advertising. In 2009, these same advantages are being applied to train employees and document procedures.

Leading successful companies are investing in video because it provides such high, measurable business results. Most of the population is visually oriented and that means that your information, when presented by video, is better remembered. Results show that sales training and new employees alike benefit significantly from video’s ability to quickly transfer complex information.

Why should your business choose video for training?
First, we admit that a face-to-face exchange or first-hand experience cannot be fully replaced by a training video. But that kind of one-on-one training is expensive and time-consuming and difficult to duplicate the content exactly from training session to training session.

A training video is a set presentation and while it cannot answer every employees individual question, can make sure that the most asked questions are already covered in its presentation.

In today’s fast-paced environment businesses are valuing video's ability to offload significant portions of training to an on-demand format that can accommodate dynamic work flows. Rapid advances in digital video technology are now making it increasingly possible to integrate video into training activities and programs. As a result, many businesses are now finding that training videos quickly pay for themselves.

In today's changing environment, the digital nature of our videos make training updates efficient and economical.

Control Your Message
Live training faces the challenge of communicating information in a consistent manner. This is especially true for industries where there is a lot of regulation in place such as health and insurance. Creating a training video not only allows you to control your message, but it also gives you the opportunity to craft your communications in the most compelling and attractive way.

In short, a training video allows your business to minimize training cost while maximizing information retention and ensuring consistent and complete information coverage.

Why Every Business Needs a Blog and a Video

And the Market Exposure Promise Productions Can Give You

The Critical Need for Social Media for Your Business Website

Social Media has taken the Internet world by storm. A tidal wave has crashed upon all websites that exist. It may well be that the biggest change of 2008 preparing us for the new landscape of 2009 is this huge shift in the Internet: Social Media, Blogs and Video.

Social Media: connecting, sharing, and marketing. Social Media (Facebook, MySpace, etc.) is designed to be shared, make connections between like minds and spread information, trends, and personal views better than if you had your own printing press!

Blogging: a kind of social media, blogs are the cusp of "what's new" in products and services and announcements. Business Blogs are not personal diaries, but rather a customer-friendly way to share value and promote yourself. (learn about strategic business blogging)

Video: Computer power, fast Internet, and today's software all make the most powerful form of communication aside from one-on-one available to your business – Video. What's more, the Internet now eagerly welcomes your business video in thousands of places. As if that was not enough, Social Media shares and spreads information in hours far beyond what all the TV Networks in the world. This gives your business video presentation ripple power!

These three giants have emerged on the scene and changed all the rules!

Last but not least, here is another significant rule-changer: Google recently announced a major shift in the way that web pages are ranked. Yahoo and MSN are already following suit. How high your business' web site appears in the list of results for your customer's search is increasingly determined by two new factors:

1• How MANY web sites link to yours and how GOOD (how reputable and popular) are those web sites.

2• Search Customization: what you get in your search results may not be what the business next door gets. Your results are now filtered and rearranged based on past internet history and personal preferences.

Since the search engines are how 85+ % of customers find the businesses they get products and services from, how does this change your Online Marketing? There are three vital opportunities for action:

1• You need to Re-SEO your web site. What worked 6 months ago is rapidly fading. You need fresh research to determine what 2009 customers are search ing for, make your site as friendly as possible using the current SEO best practices, and ADD to that landing pages for EACH significantly searched for term. That starts with smart online research and you can learn more about our research process here.

2• Start and Maintain a Business Blog: The web and especially Social Media thrives off of fresh information. Use your blog to create links back to your business web site. Use your blog to inform customers, educate them on the questions they ask as well as the questions they should be asking. Provide a place for comments and customer interaction. Spread your message with your blog's RSS feeds to other interested prospects and blogs. (get started)

3• Add Video Everywhere. Add videos to your web site to provide your information in a way that is as fun as it is informative. Add marketing videos to your Blog and to Social Media sites to reach prospects cost effectively you never could until now. Video gets shared. Video gets remembered. Video gets results.

These three actions address position your message to be received, heard and responded to. They also, when managed smartly, create a MASS of buzz about your company, creating relevant links back to your company web site and thereby boosting its visibility in search engines to your customers.

Promise Productions knows traditional and the new marketing. We provide online research to match your value presentation exactly to what your best prospects are already asking for. That translates into serious profits!

We provide strategic blogging and will even blog FOR your company so you know you are getting the most from your business blog. We know SEO and can design search engine friendly web sites from a marketing mindset. We provide cutting edge video solutions that drive your message home, educate, and motivate your audience to take specific actions. As all our promotion and visibility services are done in a strategic marketing way you can rest assured that you are not wasting your precious advertising budget.

Texas Homeowner Video Care Guide

Attention Home Builders: Did you know that almost 30% of complaints against Home Builders are by first time homeowners who have trouble because they simply do not know how to care of their new home.

That is why Promise Productions offers Home Builders a video home care guide. Unlike printed manuals that are neither read nor followed, a DVD Video in the hands of your new home buyer is not only watched but is fully understood because they are literally shown what to do, helping the home continue to perform and look new.
It is easy to ruin those granite counter tops or hardwood floors by improper care or lack thereof. In Texas, the home's foundation needs particular care as well. Creating a home care DVD pays for itself many times over by eliminating costly home warranty squabbles. Not only that, it is a service that will improve your reputation and PR as a builder.
As a professional Dallas video production firm, we do all the work for you: writing the script, filming the action, adding voice talent and an on-screen spokesperson to put your home building company in its best light.

Center Your Website Around Video Content for Maximum Impact

Right Video gets Right Results

It is a simple fact: video is the best way to show your prospects why they should want to take action. And showing is more powerful than telling.

So much more powerful that different surveys report that a video message, presentation or explanation on your website results in a 50% to 400% increase in responses! I suppose the range of results came from the range in quality of the web videos.

Fortunately for you, not everyone realizes this yet so you have the opportunity to leap ahead of the curve. 2009 is the year of Internet video. Businesses that embrace it will excel while those that don't will stagnate and whither.

There are many reasons why this is so, but I will mention three simple but profound ones here:

1 • Video is fun. People like receiving information through videos. It feels like a treat instead of work. I get emails each week from friends sending me fun videos. People like videos and like to share them and receive them. A well-done video will be seen by many many eyes.

2 • Video engages you in a conversation. And marketing communication is about fostering trust and business relationships through straightforward clarity -- the exact area professional web video provides.

Your video may just have a voiceover explaining the visuals or there may be a person's face in the video. Either way, the impersonalness of the Internet dissolves into a place where understanding and value can be grasped.

3 • Video can explain even complex things quickly and clearly. With video you get a window in which to display any visual that best makes your point. Whether that is a moving photo, a chart / graph or a full animation, video can deliver the best visuals to explain any product or service.

The catch: most people are not trained in communication and do not communicate nearly as effectively as they could, making their business results suffer accordingly. To get the best results with your website video, you need to think through what you want to say and the best way to say it. Not every business owner can list that as their strength. We all value our time and a poorly done video makes the user feel he has wasted his time, effectively killing your profit potential.

All the more reason to let a professional marketing communications firm like Promise Productions create your message for maximum impact.

Strategic Places in Your Website to Place Online Video content:
While the sky is the limit and most anything worth saying is worth saying best with video, here are some key areas common to many web sites that are golden opportunities for Internet video:

1. The Home Page: engage your prospect from the first moment with a welcome video. This greatly improves your website's "stickiness", meaning that it encourages them to "stick" around on your site to learn more -- all of which gives you greater persuasion power.

2. Services Pages: services are usually more abstract than products, so they are ripe for an explanation video. These videos should focus on the benefits the customer receives from the service.

3. Portfolio and Products Pages: a video can whiz many examples past a prospect quickly -- much more than they would end up seeing if they had to keep clicking to get the same amount of information on their own. The result is that the customer comes to receive more messages of your businesses' value to him/her through web video that they would have without that video.

Lastly, anywhere your site needs a boost because it is not reaching your audience is an ideal place to liven up with video. Think about your own business and imagine what a professional video could do for it. Then call Promise Productions at 972-822-3587.

Dallas Architectural Photographer Photography

Our Dallas Architectural Photography communicates your message: don't just tell, show them that you are stylish, big, modern, established, friendly, luxurious, practical and welcoming...

• Corporate Architectural Photography: show your customers and prospective clients the size and style of your company.

• Interior design Architectural Photography: Dallas designers want to showcase their work -- showing interiors that display furnishing, rugs, paintings, plants and other interior features in their best light. (samples)

• For Architects: document your buildings' design, setting, features, and details to promote your reputation and build trust from prospective clients. (samples)

• For Hotels: Our hotel architectural photography highlights the luxury, style and comfort your quests will enjoy at their stay. (samples)

• For Custom Home Builders: showcase the grandeur, detail and features of custom living spaces to solidify your foundational reputation and attract the right clients. (samples)

Exterior Architectural Photography Tips
How long does it take to do an architectural photo shoot, what do you need to know, and what do you need to do to get ready? Exteriors done during the day normally are shot with the sun on the front of the building, and often can be done in less than an hour. If the front of the building is in shade, it shows fewer details, and the building looks colder. Sunny days or days with light clouds are preferred, as grey, overcast days make the building look flat and dull.

Exteriors of buildings always look their best with sunlight on the face of them.

Night time exteriors are usually done shortly after sunset, the twilight time when the sky is dark blue rather than black. If the building is not well lit, the architectural photographer will need to bring additional lighting to brighten up the face of the building.

Interior Architectural Photography Tips
Interior architectural photography requires studio lighting in almost every case, which normally takes 30 minutes to an hour to set up. A small bedroom or living room can usually be lit with one or two additional lights, but I have used many more lights in large hotel lobbies, corporate work areas, conference centers, concert halls and sports venues, etc.. Large areas can take an hour to prepare for shooting.

A dark interior (wood paneling, dark carpet or paint, etc.) requires more lighting and therefore more time to set up. A light and evenly lit interior usually needs only some touch up on shadows to be ready to photograph. Interiors often look their best when the architectural photographer takes advantage of the existing light, and just bumps it up a little to make the room look natural.

A typical residential photo shoot of an apartment or home will take a half-day to do 4 rooms and one or two exteriors. A typical mid-size hotel photos will take a full day to shoot 5-8 rooms and up to 8 exteriors.

Architectural Photographer Preparation
To prepare for your architectural photo shoot, you will want to present your property at its best. For exteriors, have your landscaping freshly prepared, and move cars so they do not clutter the photo.

For interiors, a cleaning goes without saying. Fresh flowers, candles, bowls of fruit add to the appeal of your room.

How to Choose the Dallas Marketing Firm that is Right for You

The Perfect Match for Optimum Continual Profits
Dallas MaretingWould you like a company of experts to dedicate itself to elevating your business?
An effective Dallas marketing firm will integrate both your printed communications (ads, brochures, newsletters, etc.) with your electronic communications (web site, e-mailers, etc.) to drive sales and increase the interest and demand for your business.
Not every web site or marketing piece is effective however, and the difference often hinges on your choice of a marketing firm.
First, there is a key distinction: there are web designers and there are graphic designers. Covenant Designs excels at web design and graphic design, but we are more than that. We design for marketing success. As an integrated business communications marketing firm, Covenant Designs looks at the big picture of your company's marketing to attract your ideal client and grow your profits.
internet marketing DallasWe can integrate all business communications so that they reinforce each other for maximum impact. We don't merely react to a cash flow crisis by slapping a design Band-Aid over it; we position you for consistent rapid growth today and tomorrow.
Today, your web site is your front line to attract new customers and business. We encompass advertising, but not advertising for its own sake. We harness advertising with marketing to put your business right where you want it to be.
Said another way, we are not out to just provide catchy design. Nor are we out to merely patch your marketing with any old web site. We are out to cultivate all your communications to connect your business with ideal clients and optimum profits. We provide long-sighted strategic marketing that brings in new business quickly and steadily. Call it the fast track to success.
Whether you are considering your first web site, or preparing to revamp and re-launch of an existing site, here are:
Seven key questions to determine the right marketing firm firm.
1. Does the firm understand and clearly articulate the differences between print design and internet design? Sure, similarities do exist. But, while print is static, web graphics must work interactively on different browsers with disparate characteristics for display. Internet Explorer for instance, displays differently than AOL. Choose a marketing firm with proven success in interactive web designs as well as success in print.
2. Is the marketing firm experienced? Ask about other sites the designer has developed. Visit them all. Is the work visually appealing? Is it technologically interesting with the navigation features you're looking for? Is the navigation easy? Do the look and feel of the site convey high quality? Do the web sites create a unique visual identity for the business or organization? Are you treated to interesting, custom graphics or "stock" clips and photos? Is the functionality smooth? Covenant Designs has a 17-year track record of success. A well designed web site delivers a positive, enjoyable experience for visitors with graphics that load quickly and still look impressive, and navigation that presents the information in a logical, easy to access manner.
3. Does the marketing firm focus more on aesthetics or on solutions for your business goals? Keep in mind, a web site must drive sales, either through e-commerce or through stimulating the confidence and trust that makes the customer want to contact you.
Does the firm understand your goals and the key messages you want to communicate? Ask prospective designers to explain the objective for web sites they've designed. Explaining how each solution uniquely fits the client's needs will reveal important information about how that designer will approach your project. Be certain the designer has a firm grasp of your vision.
4. Does the marketing firm have a solid understanding of the principles of e-business? People rarely stroll through a commercial web site at a leisurely pace. They come, they scan for what they want, and leave. To be effective a site must be supremely efficient. Good, clear, intuitive navigation is crucial for a positive experience. Key messages must leap off the page. Text must be concise, crystal clear and compelling.
Every graphic must work to support the key messages. In short, nothing on a web site can be gratuitous. Everything must be strategically designed for a purpose. Our "web site stickiness" services provide this for you to turn web site visitors into customers.
5. Does the Dallas advertising firm provide personalized service? Access is important. Will the designer be available for follow-up? Support? Long-term maintenance? A good firm will offer you technical support and be on hand to correct any tech problems as needed and update the content as required.
6. Does the firm offer skills in communications and in technology as well as design? Designing a successful web site requires the ability to take complex or disparate bits of information and develop a clear and logical hierarchy that flows with smoothness and clarity. This requires a talent for communication and technology, as well as graphic design. Many designers have a proficiency in graphics, but lack the companion skills necessary to develop a web site that effectively supports the goals and objectives of business. Pages in a web site can be viewed in any order. To keep their attention and lead the potential customer down the persuasion path to convert into being an actual customer, the design of your site, must give your visitor an intuitive sense of where they are-and why. Only if messages flow through the site smoothly and efficiently, can you capture the customer and the sale.
7. Is there rapport between you and the firm? Do you feel they are out for a quick buck, or are they your advocates? Do they really care about your success? Chances are that the marketing communications firm you select will not only create your web site, but will also host it and help you market it, as well as update and maintain the content. Rapport is important. Look for designers and firms that feel comfortable and compatible. You'll be working closely together on planning and implementation, hosting and follow-up.
Conclusion: All your marketing should generate more of what you want -- more money from the right clients. Successful marketing is a wise investment that increases revenues and broadens your sphere of potential clients.
Smart marketing will attract, not just traffic to your site, but your ideal customers and will cause them to want to give you their business. Professional marketing makes the business flow smoothly and efficiently. Select a Dallas marketing communications partner such as Covenant Designs that displays a proven track record for excellent graphic design, good technical and marketing communication skills, and a clear understanding of ROI.

Top 10 Business Relationship Traits

In keeping with my last post about the quality of your Business Relationships determining the quality of your success in 2009, there could be no better way to launch the new business year than with a quick grounding in the Top 10 Traits of successful business relationships and business networking.

Networking is more than just shaking hands and passing out business cards. Remember, successful business rests on the foundation of successful relationships. What follows are the Top Traits to build and maintain good business relationships:

These relationships are forged in value and trust. Those who only fleece their customers like sheep without shepherding them, soon lose them.

1. Follow Up On Referrals. Every successful networker does this. Because personableness will make you stand out, online videos and phone calls are often more effective relationship-building tools than a voicemail or text or email. Those who do not follow up on communication lost the momentum of their first impression and your prospects will stop wasting their time trying to deal with you for greener pastures.

2. Positive Attitude. No one likes to be brought down. Negativity drives away referrals but a positive attitude makes people want to associate and cooperate with you. Positive business professionals are like magnets. Others want to be around them and will send their friends, family and associates to them. This is more than an inauthentic smile and chipper platitudes, a truly positive way of being comes from the inside out.

3. Enthusiasm / Motivation. This follows on the heels of the above success attitude. When you think about it, you can see that people who show the most motivation, close the most deals and get the most referrals. When you truly want to serve your customer, your customer gets excited about being served and wants to do business with you. Give what you want to get -- it's the timeless golden rule.

4. Trustworthy. When you refer one person to another, you’re putting your reputation on the line. You have to be able to trust your referral partner and be trusted in return. Neither you nor anyone else will refer a contact or valuable information to someone who can’t be trusted to handle it well. Likewise, when you commit to doing business, large or small, with someone, the other party has a large say in how it goes and you need trust to make the outcome a smooth success. Trust has to be repeatedly demonstrated. A business relationship is not a thing like a pencil you can leave sitting on a shelf for months and expect it to be right where you left it; it is a living organism that requires nurturance.

5. Good listening skills. Listening shows you care -- its that simple. Our success in business depends on how well we can listen and learn. The faster you and your customer learn what you need to know about each other, the faster you’ll establish a valuable relationship. Communicate well, and listen well.

6. Continuous improvement. Those at the top of their game, like Michael Jordan, are never too good to practice the basics. Always look for areas to improve and the customers you will want the most will appreciate where you go the extra mile for them.

7. Thanksgiving & Appreciation. Gratitude is sorely lacking in today’s business world. Expressing gratitude to business associates and clients is just another building block in the cultivation of relationships that will lead to increased referrals. People like to refer others to business professionals that go above and beyond. Thanking others at every opportunity will help you stand out from the crowd.

8. Enjoy helping. Desire the best for your customer in tangible ways. That is called "service." Helping others can be done in a variety of ways, from literally showing up to help with an office move to clipping a helpful and interesting article and mailing it to an associate or client. Those who have mastered good business relationship maintenance keep their eyes and ears open for opportunities to advance other people’s interests whenever they can.

9. Be Sincere. Insincerity is like sand in your salad. You can offer the help, the thanks, the listening ear, but if you aren’t sincerely interested in the other person, they’ll know it! Sincerity comes from the heart. Those who have developed successful networking skills convey their sincerity at every turn. One of the best ways to develop this trait is to give the individual with whom you’re developing a referral relationship your undivided attention. That leads to authentic appreciation.

10. Work your network. The word "work" is in network; master networkers don’t let any opportunity to work their networks pass them by. They manage their contacts with contact management software, organize their e-mail address files and carry their referral partners’ business cards as well as their own. Don't wait for the other party to follow up with you. Set up appointments to get better acquainted with new contacts so that they can learn as much about them as possible so that they can truly become part of each other’s networks.

What is the common thread in successful business relationships and in profitable networking? It is to value long-term relationship building as opposed to making a quick buck and then dropping them.

Are you serving or using your customers? Do you want to be served or to be used? Businesspeople who take the time to build their social capital are the ones who will have new business referred to them over and over. The key is to build mutually beneficial business relationships.

The SOCIAL in Social Media

Why Relationships will Make or Break your business in 2009

The unique part of social media is the "social" part, which is about creating connections and relationship based on something in common. Many businesses are only a fraction as successful as they could be today because they have neglected the "relationship" in their business relationships.

Many businesses do not understand marketing and end up only TALKING AT "Consumers" instead of really seeking to understand and provide value for their customers. Conversely, business that master marketing as the art of GIVING, can create both loyalty and millions in revenue.

Even a company like AT&T that deals with masses of customers and cannot be individual with them still lives or dies based on successfully meeting their client's needs. While that is simple, it is profound. No company is too big or too successful that they do not live or die apart from SERVING.

Enlightened self-interest initiates positive business relationships. Unenlightened self-interest in business is looking to not have to serve, but only be served. That does not work. There is a direct link between the stocks that are up or down and the companies that successfully serve. Your value equals the amount of service your business provide.

Current Example: Starbucks started humble and provided a service: quick, high-quality coffee in a SOCIAL environment. They got cocky started pushing what THEY wanted instead of what the customer wanted. Service suffered in every sense of the business word and they are now being humbled and struggling to stay afloat. The customer need change, the price-points changed, their service attitude changed -- but they did not and they quickly found themselves on their way to being passed by. Only by revamping their service, and their attitude towards service are they holding what market share they have left.

Enter Social Media
2008 has witnessed the maturity of social media for both personal and business interests. A whirlwind of advancements and features have taken social media from its infancy to a force to be reckoned with.

In 2008, advertising agencies were the first to lead the way with the business use of social media by mining sites like MySpace, Facebook and Linkedin for demographic information. Others had some initial success at mining email addresses for spam.

While these activities were grey at best, they underscored a vital truth: any online area where people reveal their age, gender, likes and dislikes is a gold mine for presenting a marketing message to the right audience.

Because of social media, Word-of-Mouth was moving online.

In the last half of 2008, MySpace became the preferred arena of 12-24 year old's whereas Facebook became the #1 adult social media site.

Imagine the transformation: a core human need was suddenly being addressed with new media -- the impersonal online world suddenly had "friends". Friends that would listen to you. Friends that would read your blog. Friends that would welcome you. Friends that liked what you liked.

Friends that would affirm and contribute -- sharing back in a relevant way. Masses flocked to get this need met in astounding numbers, proving yet again that if you meet a real need, the power is profound.

The business side of this phenomena is equally compelling. How many big business deals were actually conducted off the phone and outside the conference room from the golf course, to the gym locker room, to the steak dinner etc in a SOCIAL setting.

Social Settings, from Starbucks to a business lunch provide a VITAL VITAL ingredient -- TRUST from a more authentic conversation -- one with less "agenda" and push to it. Time is invested to listen and understand -- demonstrating that the relationship is valued.

Personableness and authenticity is what humans require in order to trust. How we feel about a thing determines our actions, and as a buyer, that applies to everything across the board from whether we pick tea or coke at a restaurant to whether we buy Ford or Honda. When we don't trust, we are unable to listen, and cannot hear value or opportunity -- killing action and killing relationships.

It becomes clear that your business needs a marketing agency like Promise Productions that understands this and is poised to harness it in a way that benefits your clients and your bottom line alike.

Social Medial provides connections. Shared interests. An easy way to both broadcast and tune in to what you like and are about. Connections form relationships. Business relationships are likewise built on providing the most benefits.

Who's Your Friend?
What is the "take away" from the ongoing evolution of social media to Your interest in success, in clients, in profits?

Let me answer that by first asking what is a real friend? One that will go out of his/her way to be and do FOR you. The opportunity in 2009 is to harness social media to develop MEANINGFUL relationships. Businesses LIVE AND BREATHE meaningful relationships.

Businesses who are not affirming their customer's needs and going out of their way to supply them will whither away. In today's online world, websites and blogs must be developed as integrated marketing communications pieces to show that your business understands your prospect and offers meaningful value. Neglect this and your business will whither away.

Since you are reading this, congratulations, it shows you are willing to give service in order to get market-share and profits. You are now primed for rewarding business relationships!

You have to GIVE to get. While the bottomfeeders spend most of their time looking for the magic shortcut to not really have to give and still scam their way into getting, the true successes of 2009 will be those who realize:

• You can't love everybody meaningfully so you have to define/target your audience.

• The most valuable business relationships are based on understanding, listening to and responding with communication that demonstrates a real solution to your prospect's needs.

How we apply this to your business in 2009: Promise Productions offers:

Market analysis to identify your ideal customer and the way to use, not just traditional media but also web sites, blogs and social media to present your value to them.

Web Site Analysis, what is right and wrong with your current approach and how the message targeting, the visual presentation and the programming needs to change to catch the market share you deserve

Strategic Blogging provides meaningful content, useful content along with links back to your site where its search engine visibility improves and a relationship can be formed.

• Professional visuals: in today's image-dominated world you have to have the right look to be taken seriously and even listened to. We do just that with graphic design, digital photography, and professional video.
